By the end of first grade, students are expected to be able to complete 30 addition facts (up to 10) in 90 seconds and 30 subtraction facts (up to 10) in 90 seconds. We practice these skills throughout the week in class. If you would like for your child to practice at home, you can download the pages below. In order to find out what level your child is working at, simply look in the upper left corner of the Mad Minutes pages that your child brings home each week. If your child has received a "+30" on his/her page, that means he/she will move on to the next level the following week. Once a student has achieved "+30" on level A11 for addition and level A41 for subtraction, he/she has met the first grade benchmark. However, that student will continue to practice Mad Minutes, but at a higher level.
